On 17 July 2014 at 2:33 am, I wrote the following on facebook:
“I got a word by someone in church on Sunday!!God wants to give you a car. – Received…the word!! Someone just put R10 000 in my bank account – Ref: Motor!!Im gonna find out who you are!!Thanks (smily face) - into car savings account!!”
The post got 52 likes, so I think most of you saw it. I shared the news with a lady at my residence, and her immediate response was; “Are you sure this is real, maybe it is a scam”. I answered, “No, it’s not a scam, this happens to me regularly!!” Although this was the third time this year that someone gave me R10 000, and I am able to say that this is a regular occurrence. Her doubt somehow sowed a seed of doubt in my heart. I wanted to just quickly go check if the money is really in my bank account. I took that though captive and just started to praise God that His miraculous provision in my life, is my normal!!
So, here it goes…We need to live a life that is expectant of God’s goodness and we need to be bold to proclaim His goodness to others. The world is in chaos at the moment with all the war stuff going on, but let us not become negative or start to doubt the plans of God for our lives and His intended goodness towards us and others and in fact the world!! Live a life of worship, thanksgiving and celebration of who He is and what He has done for us on the cross.
My one friend was also trusting God for a car! They needed about R20 000 to buy a car from a friend. However God only provided R4 500. Now, just imagine you have a husband and two babies and you really need a car and then you hear of your friend that just got R20 000 altogether from the Lord for a car. You have two options: 1) To feel that the Lord is letting you down and just not seeing you or 2) you can celebrate the testimony with your friend and say, Lord if you can do it for her, you can do it for me!!
Faithful as He is!! R4 500 was enough for the car. Their friend was happy to give them the car for R4 500. It’s okay, you can praise Him on behalf of them right now!! I will give you a moment. Awesomeness from a great God!!
So here it goes again…. Get to know God as a person!! Your best friend, your father, your husband and your Lord and Saviour. It will help to align yourself with His doing because you will be able to filter what happens through the character of God!! He is good, ALWAYS, and He is with you, ALWAYS, and He loves you, ALWAYS!!
I am kind off mostly broke this year because I have no real income, no need to fill in SARS forms. (Please pay your tax money). At the same time I always have money and more than enough to give away. For it is better to give than to receive (Act 20: 35). I am currently supporting four people in ministry. This means that monthly I give money to four people. That leaves me with ….uhhhmmmm, Life is fun and exciting!! Loving the drama and the adventure!!
I am sharing this because I am so blessed by the obedience of the three people who gave me the money. I know that it’s between them and God more than it is about me. I am not giving to the people in ministry because I have money to give. I give because generosity is a value and I give because I value the work that they do and I value them. Every month I am trusting God to be able to keep my commitment to them and I have not been disappointed!! I am also able to give because I do not have a poverty mentality!! Thank you Lord!! My wealth is not determined by the amount in my bank account!! I am wealthy because I am His. I also understand that I am a mere steward off all that He gives me. Therefore, I can give and I can also say no!! Because what I have belongs to Him and what He has, it belongs to me….sela
Psalm 24:1 The earth is the LORD's, and everything in it, the world, and all who live in it;
Romans 8: 17 Now if we are children, then we are heirs--heirs of God and co-heirs with Christ, if indeed we
share in his sufferings in order that we may also share in his glory.
So here it goes for the last time today!! Be generous – freely you have received, so freely give!! Not just
finances, but most of all His love and the Good News; He died and rose again so we can have a living relationship with Him and live life to the full (John 10:10).
2 Corinthians 9:7
Each of you should give what you have decided in your heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver.
