I see the moral decay of the world. Promiscuity, fornication and adultery are at the order of the day. The statistics in the church is the same as that outside the church. I ask myself why? I came to the conclusion that the only way to keep yourself pure is to allow God to keep you pure and to accept the finished work of the cross and to except your new nature. When we fear falling into sin and we start to put up boundaries out of fear, those boundaries can easily become law. You then allow yourself to be under law and that takes away your freedom. You become subject to the law that leads to the sin actually controlling your behaviour. I don’t know if this is making sense. All I want to say is be a new creation and do not be bound by law. To the pure, all things are pure (Titus 1:15).
You, my brothers, were called to be free. But do not use your freedom to indulge the sinful nature, rather, serve one another in love.(Galatians 5:13)
If indeed your freedom will result in your brother stumbling then express your freedom through love by abiding in the culture and protection provided. Freedom is not expressed through a deed. It is expressed through love. So, whether we eat certain food or not, drink wine or not, do whatever you do in faith and may it be expressed in love.
The only thing that matters is faith expressing itself through love.(Galations 5:6) This scripture is packed with power to live a life of complete freedom. The question is; Faith in what? What are we putting our faith in? I choose to put my faith in the Goodness of God and in the fact that Jesus died for me and that He made me a new creation (2 Cor 5:17). I choose to put my faith in Him protecting and keeping me instead of in myself and sinful nature to fall. Perfect love drives out all fear, even the fear of falling into sin (1John 4:18). So, I say, live by the Spirit, and you will not gratify the desires of the sinful nature. (Galatians 5:16) Those who are led by the Spirit of God are children of God (Rom 8:14) and I am a child of God, baptised in the Holy Spirit, fully equipped and empowered by die Spirit. I have been given everything pertaining to life and godliness (2Peter1:3). But if you are led by the Spirit, you are not under law. (Galatians 5:19) Jesus died on the cross so that my salvation is not attained by observing the law but by what He has done for me. It is for freedom that Christ has set us free. (Galatians 5:1)
I am 29 years old and I have never had a boyfriend and Yeah I am still a virgin. Many people have asked me if there is something wrong with me. No, there is nothing wrong with me. Soon I will have a boyfriend and I will marry him and we will have kids. It saddens me to see so many young people give themselves away to anyone who is willing to show just a little bit of love and interest even if they know that the person does not really mean it. It even saddens me more to see Christians bound to the rules and regulations they made themselves just to not be like those I just mentioned. There is nothing wrong with wisdom. Being alone behind a close door with someone from the opposite sex, who you have feelings for, - you are looking for trouble. Talking extreme intimate things with someone from the opposite sex - you are looking for trouble, because you are opening up your heart to someone who has not committed to look after it. But do we live in constant fear of making relational errors that we bind ourselves with law. Jesus died so that we can be free. Let´s live as free people and let our lifestyle not nullify the power of the cross and so display a controlled religious and fake purity. Let Christ keep us pure and let our lives reflect the power of God and the new life and nature that we have in Him.
